We went a little over four miles in (total 8.5 miles+). Trail in good condition, parking tight, river running really high after the heavy rains recently. Beautiful! Bugs ok until we stopped for lunch!

Trailhead
We started on the trailhead near Brinnon. Dungeness River Road. We went past Elkhorn Campground another mile or so.

OK thanks. we were considering doing the trail last Tues, but went the Upper Dungeness instead. i know you can do the lower from the same parking spot. wonder how that is? we might have to try coming in from Brinnon since you said it was a good hike from there.
