This is one of my favorite beach walks and perfect for the daytime low tides of spring and early summer. We started the hike at the campground, ample parking if you get there in the morning. We followed the beach all the way around Point Marrowstone, where there is a light (not really a lighthouse) and a USGS ocean research laboratory. Continuing around the point, there's even more beach. We left the beach via a short trail by Battery Wansboro. From there we wandered through the old fort buildings, most with beautifully renovated exteriors. We picked up the Bluff Trail and followed it all the way back to the campground. There's plenty of history here. You can wander all through the old gun emplacements. Fort Flagler has a network of trails that wander all through the wooded upland areas. But the beach walk is the best.
