A long day on Ruby Mountain. Forecast was clear, but very cold. Day started promising with some great views of the neighboring peaks and a consistent inch or two of snow for the first few miles.
Trail was definitely hard to follow at times. Their is a sign saying the trail is abandoned and the crazy number of downed trees shows it. With a few inches of snow and no tracks to follow GPS was definitely necessary to attempt to follow it a few times.
As we broke out of the tree line we were gradually got completely socked in with visibility of about 20ft at times. There was forecasted to be 8in of fresh snow, so we were incredibly happy to have brought snowshoes. Made it to the East Peak and called it, couldn't see the true summit at all.
Started at 6:45am got to the East summit at around 2:30. Back to the car just before 8pm.
