McClellan Butte — Monday, Nov. 2, 2020

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass

Beautiful day to climb McClelland Butte. I've lived here since 1983 but somehow never did this trail. It's a great trail and one well designed for trail runners. Currently its well maintained, very well signed, and almost snow free. The only ice I hit was on the traverse on the west side of the ridge heading to the summit. But if you slowed down and payed attention it was easily navigated.

The rock summit is very solid class 2-3 climbing with lots of holds for hands and feet. It's well worth going for the summit. Today was bluebird with everything visible.

Gaia mapping said I did 12 miles and ~4100 ft of elevation gain.

Note: the outhouse  and trash can are locked due to funding issues according to a sign. NF passes are not being required because of that.
