This time of year many folks opt to begin near Exit 52 / W. Summit because it is considerably shorter due to the Denny Creek Road winter closure. I was looking for a longer hike, so I chose to take the Exit 47 / Denny Creek TH approach.
From Exit 47, just as you pass under I-90, Denny Creek Road will be closed for where you normally would turn left. Parking is allowed along the road, so just find a spot as close to the closure as you can and start hiking down the closed Denny Creek Road. This will add a few miles to your hike, putting the round trip at about 7.5 miles.
Current conditions along Denny Creek Road are pretty good and clear right up to bridge across South Fork Snoqualmie River. A little slick in spots, so watch out for black ice. Once reaching the bridge it was packed snow the rest of the way.
Microspikes not absolutely required, but recommended.
The falls were not particularly icy or otherwise spectacular, just hasn't been cold enough.
