Striped Peak is an easy-moderate trail with enough ups and downs for a good workout. No parking pass needed and the trail head is at the small parking lot just to the right when you enter the Salt Creek Recreation area. The trail is in good condition other than a handful of muddy sections. There are a few steep areas that are slippery so poles are helpful. Not much in the way of views on the trail, but there are a few spots where you can see the ocean through the trees. Plenty of large trees to admire and multiple Pileated Woodpeckers and Bald Eagles. We chose to turn left at the logging road not continuing on the trail. Just a few minutes walk down the logging road you come to a beautiful clearing looking out over the Strait of Juan de Fuca and to Vancouver Island and Mt. Baker on a clear day.
