Fantastic overnight trip. Moderately busy.
Hiked up to Melakwa Lake Saturday morning and set up camp. Tagged Kaleetan that afternoon once the clouds burned off. Trail is pretty straightforward; when in doubt, stay left of the ridge. One of my favorite summit views of the Alpine Lakes!
Should go without saying, but campfires are prohibited at Melakwa; there are two signs saying so. We had to ask an overnight party to extinguish their fire.
Regardless, a great outing. Virtually no snow remaining; no traction needed.
