I was surprised to find only 5 other vehicles at the trailhead when I arrived at 8:45 on a Sunday morning, the last clear day before a couple of days of rain. The road was in great shape as was the trail. I encountered about 20 people all day, mostly returning backpackers and several mountain bikers, but had the trail to myself most of the time and saw no one while at the pass. There we're fall colors on some sections of the trail and a few larches near their peak at the pass. When I returned to the trailhead at 5:15, there were no other vehicles at the trailhead. I can't imagine what it was like at Ingalls.
