A 1 1/2 hour drive from Seattle to the TH. Found 8 cars near the Mt Dickerman TH and none near the Perry Creek TH. Passed 2 people on the way up to the meadow and 2 on the way down. We were the only hikers that went past the Perry Creek crossing to the meadow. Very quiet day.
Fall colors were absolutely stunning. The maples were bright orange along the trail. The trail is covered with wet leaves, slippery rocks or slippery roots so be extra careful. Previous trip report from earlier this week said there was about 5" of snow in the meadow. We found only about 1" on the grass and none on the rocks. No problem with snow on the trail. Didn't need spikes. A light cloud cover obstructed views of Mt Baker. Glacier Peak was visible and when the sun came out for a few minutes it shown brightly. Spectacular!
Perry creek was running high due to snow melt. The water level at the crossing was over our high top boots so we chose to barefoot it across.
3 1/2 hrs to the meadow and 3 hrs back.
