The trail is closed off from approximately two miles to the trail head. There was good amount of parking on the side of the road when we got there about 9am but it was overfilled by the time we returned - I recommend an early start! We wore snowshoes (because fun!) although I saw a few people with micro spikes and some with just hiking boots. It was a wet day, alternating between a very wet snow and rain. That didn’t seem to reduce the large amount of people on the trail, especially as the afternoon progressed.
It was nice and convenient but be prepared for crowds or maybe try a weekday. If you like the feeling of being alone in the wilderness, I’d pass on this trail.
