Lunch Rock, Teanaway Community Forest - Frog Slab — Wednesday, Jun. 1, 2022

Snoqualmie Region > Salmon La Sac/Teanaway

Yesterday, 31may2022, in my search for a "Goldilocks ramble" (for this 01jun2022 WED morning), i browsed through some maps, including the

where i saw a couple of interesting Rock Formations, e,g. Lunch Rock, Frog Slab, and many others. Unfortunately, for me .. the exact location(s) of these Rock Formations are pretty much unknown/unclear and aren't displayed/shown in my Hiking Apps (GaiaGPS, Alltrails, and Caltopo) maps.

Fortunately, later after some further searching, i found/read the (WTA) EckartS (Jun. 11, 2020) Report which well described the "routing" - from which i pieced together for my route as best i can to my GaiaGPS map ..

And so off to Teanaway C F i went this (01jun2022) morning for my  "Goldilocks ramble" .. (CW-Loop): [P] > c"Lunch Rock, Frog Pond, Frog Slab" > [P]

Many thanks to EckartS ✌👍  .. i successfully found/visited Lunch Rock, Frog Pond, and Frog Slab .. which were beautiful. And especially more so cos i was the only person on the Trails until when i was returning .. and ~1 mile from the Parking where i encountered a Mountain Biker who was coming up. We chatted for a few minutes .. bid goodbyes, and then we went our separate ways. He's nice, courteous and friendly. A few minutes later, i noticed ~4x horseback riders in the distance on another track/route coming in.

Some wildflowers (yellow ones, purple/violet ones), including reddish-color Paintbrush blooming. No sighting of any wildlife.

Please note, a "quick-and-dirty" Out-&-Back to/fro Lunch Rock, Frog Pond, and Frog Slab is R/T 5 miles or less.  What i did - 6.4 miles was an "extended" version (a "Loop") .. cos the weather was nice and cool (Out @9:00 Low 50s_F, Back @11:00 low_70s_F). Also, i wanted to "see" and experience more of the Teanaway C F trails.

The trails were a "mixed" of boot tracks/horse tracks, abandoned road - which were generally in good condition, and reasonably well maintained. Not Marked/Signed (pls keep in mind to have a Map or Hiking App with you). i only encountered few very minor "inconveniences" : 2x ~12 ins diameter tree-down across the trail, 2x muddy spots - all easily passable. Also, only got 3x mosquitoes bites 😂 and no ticks 😅 Also, the Toilets at the Parking were opened and clean - many thanks to the TCF Maintenance People 👍

Happy Trails Everyone 😄
