This trail is in great condition, especially the first 1.5-2 miles. After that the trail is still in great shape, but the salal and mountain huckleberries are a bit grown over in places, and given the recent rain we were a bit wet from the leaves. We started the hike around 1:30 and ended around 5:00 on a Friday and no one else was on the trail.
From the top you can see Lake Crescent, and if the clouds are high enough or it's clear you'd have a nice view of the Olympics as well. There is a toilet at the top, as well as a picnic table. There's also a road and 4-5 parking spots for those who want to skip the trail and drive to the view.
