Boulder River — Thursday, Jun. 20, 2024

North Cascades > Mountain Loop Highway
Waterfall #2

First waterfall is at 1.5 miles, second is at 2.5 miles which makes for a nice 5 mile out-and-back.

The road in is indeed very pothole-y. I personally wouldn't attempt it in a low-clearance vehicle but I saw a couple sedans at the trailhead so it must be possible!

Had no trouble finding parking on a weekday and only passed a handful of groups. There is no toilet at the trailhead but there is a clean, well-stocked vault toilet on the road a couple miles before the trailhead.

Lots of wildflowers and ripe (!!!) blueberries at around 2 miles. Very enjoyable hike on a beautiful summer day.
