Having read the reports that the trail was closed, we couldn’t believe it. Arrived at the trailhead, things looked as they had for all the years before. But then, though the land purchase was not obvious, the beginnings of development were suddenly apparent. We encountered neither sign nor person to tell us to go away. We carried on, though feeling melancholy that what was once accessible to all will now be accessible to only a select few paying customers. Such is life? Writing this report now, as summer 2024 begins, I looked into it again. For the price of 400k, access can be yours. Is this what Washington has become? My heart breaks.
WTA - what about a fundraiser to buy a lot for you and your “closest friends”? :)
