Did this short hike on the way home from Leavenworth. The road would’ve absolutely killed my late Prius. But a deer already took care of that car earlier in the summer. Even with my hybrid SUV I drove the road very slowly with the nerves of a former Prius owner.
It’s a very short hike and things were quite dry though there was some fall color. The lookout was locked up tight, but it was a clear day, and there were lovely views. The outhouse near the Lookout is in disrepair, but there is a vault toilet at the trailhead. You will need to furnish your own TP in either case.
I did see a few larches on the drive up the rough forest road, however they were mainly lime green and not yet golden.
