If you willingly go on a fall hike to see the colors or larches on a weekend, know that it will be very busy and plan a backup if the trailhead parking is too full. Especially when you see both sides of road have parking on them. If you see that, just turn around and find an alternative. We arrived just after 8am and we're the first car to park on the side of the road, right next to trailhead. When we exited around 1pm, both sides of the road had been lined with cars, not allowing ANY space for possible emergency vehicles to obtain access. It was the biggest shit show I've seen. (I usually avoid these types of hikes on weekends) I was in a line of at least 6 cars trying to exit and somehow 2 cars shoved in between me and car in front of me forcing me to drive backwards a while until they could pull off. Then it took another 15 min to drive about 1/4th of a mile. At one point, my Toyota highlander was about 1 inch on either side from scrapping other cars. A wider vehicle would not have been able to exit. I was shocked at how many of them sitting in cars on the side actually thought they were still going to get through with so many trying to exit at this time. Please people, use your common sense and only park on 1 side of these roads.
