Leque Island - Stanwood Levee Trail — Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area

Went late on a Sunday morning, during hunting season. Parking lot was close to full, but walkers were coming and going, so there was always free spots in the time I was there.

As easy walk, with no obstacles, or elevation. I logged just over a mile going out and back. It looks like you can go past the main levee walk, but it was very muddy off trail and since it was hunting season, I stayed on the levee.

Tons of ducks skimming the water/mud, and some sort of flocking bird kept moving from place to place which was neat to watch. It was a grey day, and pretty in its own right, but definitely going back on a clear/warmer day (not during hunting season) to see all the birds.
