6 Mountaineers members from CHS-2 enjoyed a lovely outing this morning with blooming bleeding hearts, trillium, a banana slug, and 16 bird species, including a raven, lots of Pacific wrens, brown creepers, and a black-throated gray warbler, a sure sign that the spring migration is on. We even saw Mt. Rainier.
At the trailhead at 8:15, there were only a few cars, not many for such a nice spring day. The Portapotties are stocked, and the trail is in great condition, with no mud anywhere. Total 3.5 hours, 2.5 mph pace, with 7+ miles and 1700+ elevation gain. Next time, maybe we'll add a trip to the Central summit via Chybinski Loop and Bullitt Fireplace.
