Hiked to Lower Lena Lake and then towards Upper as far as the National Park boundary. Lower Lena trail is in excellent shape but we thought the lake was nothing special. Upper is a bit muddy in some areas but all the blowdowns are cleared now, we added some drainage, and all the brush is cut back. We spoke to several groups who attempted Upper Lena but none made it due to snow and water conditions. The wildlife is pretty human adapted so watch your food and your pack.
Lower Lena Camping: Great water access just past the lake at the stream if you don't want to filter from the lake. There are two newish box toilets that are well signed towards the end of the lake, they have clear line of sight to each other and a bit of a view back to the "waiting area" but they are in good shape. Lots of dispersed campsites, many with fire rings, but also a popular spot. There are more spots on the other side of the lake, but you have to cross a fast flowing icy stream or a sketchy log bridge that would be dangerous if wet.

Did anyone in your work party lose a folding handsaw with an orange handle? A friend and I were there Monday to Tuesday and picked one up from a large group campsite.

I'm waiting to hear back but certainly sounds like our group. Did you grab it or leave it there?

No one has claimed it yet so you might have a new toy. You'll have to come join us some time and bring it along :-D We were staying at the site near the closed bathroom. I know there was also a Latter-day Saints church/boyscout group out there in the other group site closer to the lunch rock but no idea where they were actually from.
