We parked at the campground and did a 2.5 mile loop hike counter clockwise. This is a gorgeous state park in a far flung corner of our state. 80% of the hike is in the woods with now views, but there were tons of wildflowers blooming. The trail is steady but manageable uphill on the way to the viewpoint and then a little steeper on the downward loop. The view/lookout area is absolutely stunning vista of the canyons and mountains all the way south to the snow capped Willowas in Oregon. There's a warming hut that must get plenty of use in the winter, but was deserted when we were there.
