Huge payoffs for such a tiny trail. We took an afternoon drive up to Deer Park for Father’s Day.
The road is washboardy in a few places, especially higher up. I find this road terrifying, it’s narrow with steep drops in a number of places. Be careful going around corners because it’s hard to see oncoming vehicles.
That said, it’s very worth the trip. The trail is in good shape with spectacular views for very little work. A ton of little flowers are blooming.
True to the name, we saw many deer.
It was a Sunday evening and the campground was about 1/3 full but we met a lot of cars going down as we were going up, so assuming it had been fuller earlier. (No water at campground.)
