51 miles in 47 hours!
Day 1 - 4:45pm (late start)
7 miles down the Cathedral Driveway to the Chewuch trail. Made camp at the sites just before the intersection of the Tungsten/Chewuch trail.
Day 2 - 4:00am start
Left camp early and headed up toward the Cathedral Lakes. Hiking the burnout of the Chewuch trail isn't very interesting but it's fantastic fishing in the river. The bugs were bad up at the Cathedral Lakes, but are better on the passes. I pushed on past the Cathedral Lakes, past Tungsten Mine, and made camp on Scheelite Pass.
Ended up being a 22.5 mile day.
Day 3 - 4:05am start (slept in..)
Continued my journey down the Boundary Trail to the magnificent Horseshoe Basin. Bugs were still in abundance but I had enough deet on to kill a horsefly on contact by this point so I didn't get any bites. Made it to Sunny Pass and peeled off the trail up towards Windy Peak. This trail wasn't too bad, there were a few fallen trees but nothing that was difficult to get around. Made it up to Windy Peak and had the peak to myself for a nice rest, then hiked the five miles out back to the Chewuch Trail.
Also ended up being another 22 mile day.
All in all, a fantastic trip. The Pasayten never disappoints.
