Burroughs Mountain — Friday, Jul. 11, 2025

We took the Sunrise rim to the 3rd burrows for an epic day of hiking. The permits started today so make sure you have one as we saw several cars getting turned away. This permitting makes for an overall more joyous experience with less people on the trails. Sunrise rim verses the frozen lake side was a serene experience. The jaunt out to the third burrows is always exciting. Several snow patches that are easily navigated. Bugs present if you stop, but we treat our gear so probably had less issues than others. A nice breeze most of the way also kept them at bay.
