Like everyone else has said, bugs are pretty bad this time of year. I've seen worse though, and honestly I was so distracted by the beauty I didn't notice how many bites I had until I got home. And of course it was very crowded, as to be expected on a weekend. I brought wag bags because I had read they were needed, though found there is actually a toilet at all three lakes. BUT when you have to poop in the morning when everyone else there has also had their coffee and you find a line up, a wag bag can really come in handy. Also, I had read any car could make it, but there was enough water crossing the road at one spot that the car ahead of us turned around. (VERY low clearance on that one, so I don't blame them.) You can find lots more details and info on my website slowesthiker.com or follow link below. Happy trails!

Sounds like an awesome trip! Curious if the trail from Marmot to Jade is well-marked, or does it require some route finding? How are the campsites at Marmot?
