We were looking for a hike on a sunny Fourth of July where we hoped to not encounter a lot of other hikers, and this one fit the bill perfectly. No official trail sign, but easy to locate on the opposite side of the large parking lot from the Mt. Zion TH. No big elevation gains/losses, no grand views, but if you want mostly easy walking for some distance, this is your trail. Sections of the trail are quite overgrown, though the way is never completely obscured. Some flora (Red Columbine, wild strawberries, scrubby paintbrush) some fauna (ambassador deer on the road in, grouse, bear scat, garter snake) to keep you entertained and aware.
