Arrived Monday morning around 10:30am to a half-full lot. The toilet was stocked with some toilet paper!
The trail was so nice and it was a gradual incline, with some steeper parts closer to the top. Overall pretty easy! I loved how soft parts of the trail felt on my feet. Took the Lower Elliot both ways, but want to come back and try a loop one day.
I forgot to take pictures, but there were some bridges in the beginning of Lower Elliot that had some planks deteriorating. There were some large gaps or holes as well. The bridge was still stable though.
There are 2 sections where it looks the trail keeps going straight, but in fact continues to the left of you or behind you as you head toward your destination. Note that there are logs/branches laid down directing your path to the left and behind. You would have to step over them to continue off trail.
As we headed up to the lake, there were 3 parties heading down.We were lucky! It felt like a nice private experience enjoying the lake.
Then we headed down. It took us about 2 hours each way.
