We came, we saw, we picked up some garbage.
The whole of Forest Park is divided into three parts. The first of which is the very popular playground and splash pad which was a buzz with kids this sunny afternoon.
The second is the event center which was also very much a buzz with multiple events and summer camps.
The third is the quieter forest trails. This is where we focused our explorations. They are not well mapped and have zero signage at any junction. The cascade orienteering online map is your best navigational bet but you could never get truly lost here.
Bathrooms/parking: the flush potties were fenced off for construction and a couple port a potties were provided instead. Parking was almost full with all the events but we found a spot with no waiting.
I am hiking all this month to raise funds and awareness for WTA so that the trails can be enjoyed by future generations. If you would like to contribute, any amount helps.
