The views are stunning once you reach about 6000 ft but for the first 2/3 of the hike you can't really much. We started at 9:20, reached our highpoint at 7800 ft at 2:30 and were back at the car at 6:20. When crossing the creek aim to cross after the former bridge otherwise you will have to navigate some scree and many fallen trees. The trail is very brushy with lots of cobwebs for the first mile or so, but it gets better after that. The trail is very straightforward until ~7400 ft when you reach a gully with a lot of loose rock. This section is not fun to descend but is not too bad going up. Once you reach the top of the gully you have to do a tricky move to reach the next section which is very fairly straightforward with better quality rock but with a lot of exposure. We turned back about 50ft up from the gully.
