Indian Henry's Hunting Ground via Longmire, Mirror Lakes & Pyramid Peak — Saturday, Sep. 20, 2025

You can get to Pyramid via Kautz Creek in less miles, but that approach is pretty boring, so I figured I'd give the longer, more scenic route a try. And the verdict: the trade-off is absolutely well worth it. More ups and downs to be sure, but far superior scenery all around.

Refer to the previous TR for basic conditions as not a lot has changed since the beginning of the month; the same water spots seem to be holding on and the trail is in great shape from top to bottom, aside from a bit of scrubbiness on the section immediately after Mirror Lakes. Berries are still good, especially up around Indian Henry, and the fall colors are slowly seeping in.

Gorgeous day, very happy to escape the lingering smoke cloud hanging over the South Sound. Strava says 18 miles and 5283' of climbing.
