Deception Pass State Park - Goose Rock, Deception Pass State Park - North Beach & Deception Pass State Park - West Beach Sand Dunes — Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025

Raising amazing hikers and good stewards of the earth. Today we parked at North Beach and hiked down to West Beach then over to the Dune Forest before heading back to North Beach for a break then up Goose Rock and down via the perimeter trail. It was an amazing day! While hiking today we had noticed some wire on the drift wood. I picked up the wire to throw away when we found a trash can but kids reminded me that we had little trash bags in my pack, so we pulled them out and ended up collecting 4 trash bags full of trash. We found wire, fishing line, cans, poop bags galore, a diaper and so many tags. But the biggest thing we found was flowers and wreath from what I would think was a wedding on the beach. We want to keep these beautiful and wild places just that, beautiful and wild. 

The trails are all nice and highly recommend coming here. Overall the park is very clean and so beautiful! The dune forest is like walking through a forest with chandeliers made of moss, the north beach forest is stunning and the top of Goose Rock gives you epic views of the Olympics and Rainier.
