Interesting mix of weather for this Sunday hike. Started off with light dusting of snow on the ground and snow/ice blowing on us on the ridgeline. The wind was howling through the trees, it was a relief to get to the other side and have a windbreak. We were first tracks on the powdery snow. Snow was about 2 inches on the trail, and 3 inches climbing the knob. Just wore boots and did fine. Wind was intense on the knob, so we didn't linger. On the return, most of the snow beyond the knob had melted and the wind had died down. Felt more like fall than winter. Had to move some downed small trees on the drive down. Only ones on the trail the whole time.
