Mount Teneriffe, Teneriffe Falls, Teneriffe Falls Connector & Talus Loop — Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area
Those summit views we know and love!

You know you're from the PNW when you climb 4,500 ft just for this view! And you still love every minute of it.

Not wanting to wait for the Teneriffe TH gate to open, I started at the Mount Si trailhead about 6:45 am this morning. A few cars beat me there, but not many. I took Talus Loop Trail over to Mount Teneriffe Trail, then hopped on the connector trail over to the falls. Everything in great shape, although slightly wet. From the falls, I pitched upwards on Kamikaze. If it's your first time doing Kamikaze, I highly recommend a map, because while the trail is mostly easy to follow, you can occasionally be led astray on social trails. I also noticed that the orange blazes on the trail are now heavily faded, so cannot rely on those. :/

Kamikaze was snowfree all the way to the summit! I hadn't seen anyone all day which was fun. Summit was misty and windy, with zero views. Didn't stay long. Started sighting other humans on the long Mt. Teneriffe Trail down. Of special note is the sad fading of orange blazes on this side of the trail as well. They're basically gone. I really relied on these in the winter months, when there are loads of conifer duff on the snow obscuring faint tracks (if there are any). So winter could pose an interesting challenge! Again, offline nav will be critical! There are some blazes that seem to be carved into the trees and some random pink ribbons occasionally, but I am not sure it will be enough when everything is covered with snow.

After a long descent on the Mount Teneriffe Trail, I hopped back on the Talus Loop and made it back to my car without incident. Pretty quiet day on the trail, and the green lush forest and colorful mushrooms were gorgeous!

So glad to hear the orange disfiguring of the trees is fading. It's highly inappropriate. There are a gazillion GPS tracks to follow if the trail alludes one in places. Personally, I've never had an issue with it.
