Quick hike up Rattlesnake after work. No other cars in the pullout at 3:15. A few icy sections on the first incline but easy to avoid. Snow on trail most of the way but dry and firm (not slippery), no wind and blue sky. Wore boots and brought spikes but didn’t need them.
Got to top in about 40 minutes. Snapped a few pics for sunset and handed out treatos to the pup then headed back down. Back to my car by 4:45: round trip 1.5 hours, 1,200 feet gain, two miles total. Was reluctant to do this because I was tired but so glad I did! Listened to This is Love podcast about Appalachian Trail hiker Emma Gatewood, so it felt just right.
Love this hike for a quick workout and head clearer.
