Thompson Lake via Granite Creek Trail, Granite Creek Trail to Granite Lakes & Thompson Point — Friday, Jan. 9, 2026

Conditions:

- Snow starts soon after the bridge

- Quite slushy until the Thompson Lake split

- Slide alder is quite awful in the first switchback after leaving the trail, but it really is only until halfway that switchback. If you can get through that, it's all smooth.

- Snowshoes needed after the Thompson Lake split
