Decided to give this one a go and see what the conditions were like. The trail to lower Lena Lake were totally clear, with only a few light streams crossing the trail. However continuing on to Upper Lena Lake was a different story. Decent sized streams crossing the trail (bring your waterproof boots!), and lots of down trees. Some parts of the trail were completely covered by the branches of trees. Somewhere shortly past the National Park border the snow started. It was mostly super packed, and I was fine in trail runners, with an occasional break through. We made it to the creek crossing and turned around there. We had a hard time finding a good way to cross and didn't have snow shoes, so we decided to head back.
All and all an absolutely gorgeous day and hike. We didn't see anyone else until about a mile from the trailhead on our way back.
