Trip Report

Kaleetan Peak, Melakwa Lake — Friday, Sep. 13, 2013

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
The Denny Creek crossing was much easier than I had anticipated as previous crossings had been a bit more damp. The trail is quite nice to Melakwa Lakes- it seems as though there has been a trail crew up there fairly recently and they did an excellent job! Both lakes are full of wonderfully blue and clear water. I did see some trash on the bottom of the lake but it was a bit out of reach for me- so if anyone wants to being goggles... :) The path up Kaleetan (Ridge Route) is in decent condition- route finding skills are quite necessary as I lost track of it a couple of times. Just look around for cairns or other signs of a path. Once on the top- I would be careful as I found quite a few wasps that did not look very happy. I didn't stay long up there.
