First off, the coordinates listed do not bring you to the trail head! Google Maps brought us to someone's front yard, on the other side of the park. You actually want to be down the road a bit, looking for a blue sign for the Jim Whittaker Wilderness Creek (not a typo) trailhead. Anyway, the hike was gorgeous! I definitely enjoyed the half/three quarters of Wilderness Peak the best. That had all the rivers and a very forresty feel. Now this is only my fourth or fifth hike basically ever, and it was not easy. The grade is steep and we took many breaks. The peak is VERY disappointing! There are no views, just a bench and a log book (which was actually kind of cool). So needless to say we went down the Gombu trail since there was supposedly a lookout point along that trail. There was a point, but it was slightly disappointing as well. Very clean port-o-potty at the trailhead and free parking. Great day for a hike. Can't really complain.
