Trip Report

Fourth of July Pass via Thunder Creek — Saturday, Jul. 16, 2016

North Cascades > North Cascades Highway - Hwy 20
Saw a thin black bear on the descent approx. 25' or less off trail. Did not appear threatening - looked at us a couple times, moved around a bit, and then sat down to eat some plants.
This is right before the marker up to Fourth of July - and yes, the water truly is that blue!
Pass a few waterfalls/streams along the way, but nothing major. You can cross and keep feet dry w/o issue.
We found a better spot if you decent down the trail a bit, but were too tired to move
