Trip Report

Burroughs Mountain, Sourdough Ridge & Wonderland Trail — Sunday, Jul. 24, 2016

Mount Rainier Area > NE - Sunrise/White River
This was the first of 5 snowfields like this one on the North side from Frozen Lake
We really couldn't have picked a finer day to hike the loop trail. We started from the North side of the Visitors Center up to Sourdough Ridge and Frozen Lake, then to First and Second Burroughs. Be very cautious along the way from Frozen Lake to First Burroughs, there were 5 snow fields along the side of the hill that we crossed that were very slick so use caution here. We then headed back to the Visitor Center via the Burroughs Mt Trail. All in all it was a spectacular day and we ended up seeing quite a few wildflowers and Mountain Goats along the way.
