South Cascades > White Pass/Cowlitz River Valley

This is a great hike! The trail is in pretty good condition and offers great views with a relatively short investment of time. We hiked up the Tatoosh Lakes trail, but instead of heading down to the lake, we made a left at the top of the ridge and hiked up an unmarked trail to the top of a rock which offered 360 views of the area, with Mount Rainier front and center and other peaks visible in the distance. The meadows are also in full bloom right now, and with the addition of trickling streams and clouds of blue butterflies, the scene is truly idyllic!
