Trip Report

Old Mine Trail, Green Lake — Sunday, Jun. 4, 2017

Mount Rainier Area > NW - Carbon River/Mowich
Ranger Falls

My Wife and Hiked from the Carbon River road closure to Green Lake and sidetracked on to the Old Mine Trail on the way back. All three trails are in great shape. The Ranger said that the Green Lake and Old Mine trails and recently been worked on and both showed it.

The day started a little gray but was bright sunshine by early Afternoon. There were a couple of dozen cars int the parking lot but the trails were not not crowded for a Sunday.

Not a lot of blooming flowers yet but the lake was bug free and we had it all to ourselves for about 30 minutes.

It was a great early season hike below snow line and the steep pitches will help gain better fitness for later in the Summer.
