This is an easy, flat 1.5 mile loop that is great for quick immersion in nature. Elk are almost always present on at least one of the fields; today they were in the woods right before the trailhead. The trees on the maple glade side of the loop are beautiful in all seasons and the homestead side is a hidden gem of history.
