Larch Mountain (Silver Star) — Monday, Jan. 15, 2018

Arrived at the TH about 11:30 today. There were two other cars and ample parking. The others people must have been hiking Grouse Vista as I didn’t seem them on the trail. I saw mountain bikers on top of Larch Mountain, but they came in a different trail. I passed one other person on my way out near the TH. The trail is in good condition but many parts are very rocky. Only a little snow which didn’t present any problems. Before arriving at the top there is a good view of Mt Hood and shortly passed that a good view of Mt Saint Helens. I came in via Washougal River Rd based on the guidebook saying the route in from Dole Valley was rough. I did leave via Dole Valley. The road is in good condition on both sides and suitable for any vehicle.
