I recently finished hiking the Wonderland Trail (8 Days). I started out of Longmire and headed to the South Puyallup River Campground, which was my first campsite on the way. The weather wasn't too warm at the time, but you start gaining elevation immediately after leaving Longmire and you're going to get hot. Now with the temperatures in the low 90s (and mid-80s by mid-week), you might want to plan to hit the trail early to beat the heat, or at the very least take extra water with you. I was able to get by with 1 liter at a time, being sure to top off whenever possible, which was made easier by asking opposite direction hikers about water sources up ahead.
This is a nice hike, with a cool suspension bridge crossing and some nice views at the summit (and Indian Henry's Cabin). The side hike to Mirror Lake was deffo NOT worth the effort and I don't recommend it.
At the moment, Devil's Dream campsite is a mosquito nightmare for hikers. Even in the middle of the day, doused in Picardin, the mosquitos were fearsome. Not being able to get to my exposed skin they opted to just go through my shirt. If Devil's Dream is one of your WT campsites, I recommend skipping it or getting it changed.
The South Puyallup River Campground wasn't bad, and my group had it to ourselves. The best water source is the one right before you reach the camp (maybe 1/4 miles away) and the privy is a ways off, but you pass some awesome basalt rock column formations along the way.
