Note: we did NOT do the loop-just up to white pass and a bit of exploring
Wonderful overnight with the hubby! We had a late start at 11:30am but the trail up to Mackinaw Shelter was smooth sailing! We topped off the water bottles and headed up the switchbacks to the junction with the PCT. Pretty hot afternoon for that climb-I was So grateful for my new Gossamer Gear Chrome Umbrella! It was hands free and made a HUGE difference to hike in the shade! My GPS said 4 miles up the PCT, not 3?? Anyway on we went to White Pass and had lovely evening in the beautiful camping area below the pass. The next morning, I followed the little boot path up to the top of White Mountain for awesome views of Glacier Peak! Then back down to the car. Stunning Area! Good times even with our cramped schedule!
