White Pass - Pilot Ridge Loop — Friday, Jul. 27, 2018

I started out on Friday midday at the North Sauk River Trail and hike to White Pass, use it for base camp and day hike down the PCT to Dishpan Gap and the other way to Red Pass and Glacier Meadows. The weather was interesting I got hailed on the first 4 miles then it cleared up till I got the last mile of trail before the PCT then lightning flashed across the valley. Luckly the storm held off till I got to the White Pass Camp and got set up in the dark, after that it poured rain for an hour. Bugs were annoying but had plenty of bug spray. Saturday was beautiful white thunderstorms to the east of the crest. Wildflowers were at their peak. I got as far as Indian Pass on the PCT because I wanted to check out Glacier Meadows that evening got a real good shot of Glacier Peak with a thunderhead in the background, what a treat! Sunday was the long haul back down into the heat and haze from wildfires in California.
