Mt Teneriffe in the snow via the falls trail was ethereally beautiful today--waterfall running full, sunbeams lighting up the snow covered trees. The trail was its usual very steep rooty self but somehow I always love this trail--the beauty makes up for the steepness and the scrambling is kind of fun. EXCEPT--somewhat distracting from the other worldly beauty--someone has blazed the trees along the upper part of the trail! Why?
About 6 inches of snow at the top and slippery--spikes and poles recommended.

I believe the blazed trees are so hikers can find the trail even when the snow covers the footpath. Learned this recently and wanted to share! Looks like a great hike!
