Carpooled from Seattle and arrived early with our CHS2 group. Weather was clear and sunny. Trail is in good condition, but once you reach the ridge it degrades. There is a lot of loose gravel and talus, so it's easy to roll an ankle or slip if you are paying attention to your footing.
There area of snow the last 1/4 mile that is easy to cross. We had views of Tahoma (Mt Rainier), Klickatat (Mt Adams), Loowit (Mount St. Helens) and the Stuart Range. ^_^
