Elwha River and Geyser Valley, Pacific Northwest Trail — Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019

I hiked from the Hayes River Ranger Station to the Madison Falls Parking Lot.  The road is closed to vehicle traffic from Madison Falls south along the Elwha.  The trail transitions (going from south to north) from wilderness to dirt/gravel and then to asphalt road walking.  The rain forests south of Humes Ranch are enchanting.  More of this experience is available by watching my linked video below.  The Elwha Dam removal site is on one of the highlights of this trail.
