Goat Lake — Monday, Sep. 5, 2022

Haven’t done Goat in about 5 years, not sure why as it’s such a nice trail! Did upper Elliott on way to the lake and lower on the return. Trail head was crowded when we arrived around 11:30, full and about 12 cars on the sides of the road. 8 cars total when we left at 4:30. They must have all left via the lower trail because we only passed 3 or 4 parties on the way in and only shared the lake with 2 other people. Total mileage was 10.6 mi and 1600 ft gain per my watch. Mileage felt about right but felt flatter then that, only a few small uphills until the last approach to the lake.
